Mentors

Become a CEO Mentor

The Decatur Morgan CEO mentoring program establishes a positive networking model for Decatur Morgan CEO students by providing effective one on one connections to local business leaders that will strengthen the student's awareness of employment opportunities in our County and help them develop greater social and business skills. Every Decatur Morgan CEO student is matched with a mentor from the business community. Ultimately, these relationships strengthen the CEO program's success and builds generational bridges between the student and the business community.

Here are the expectations for mentors:

  • Attend a mandatory training and matching event on October 17, from 7am - 8:30am at the Decatur Morgan Entrepreneurial Center.
  • Meet with the student during class time at 7:00am - 8:30am on the first Monday of each month, November - May
  • Respond to a weekly progress journal via email that will be sent to you by your student telling you what they have experienced in CEO the prior week
  • Review the student's business plan for their individual business
  • Be able to pass a background check successfully
  • Attend the end of year tradeshow to show support and encouragement to your student
